How the affiliate links on this site work

In plain terms, not legal boilerplate.

The short version

Some links on Forge Alone — clearly marked on each review — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up, this site may earn a commission from the company being reviewed. You never pay more for using one; in some cases a linked offer includes a discount you wouldn't get otherwise.

What that does and doesn't change

It doesn't change what a review concludes. A tool's "where it doesn't hold up" section stays in the review whether or not there's a commission on the line — the alternative is a site nobody can trust, which defeats the point of writing reviews at all.

It does mean this site has a financial interest in you clicking through, which is exactly why this page exists instead of a link buried in a footer somewhere.

Amazon Associates

Forge Alone is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Links to Amazon in the workspace guides, and on the Forge Alone Pinterest account, are affiliate links.

Current link status

Affiliate approvals are rolling in gradually. The Reditus, Ledger, involve.me, and BabyLoveGrowth.ai links on this site are now tracked affiliate links. Miro and Leadpages still point to each company's standard site while those applications are in progress. The UGREEN NAS review links to Amazon through the Amazon Associates program; UGREEN's own affiliate application wasn't approved, so the link to UGREEN's store is a standard, non-affiliate link. Each review notes its own current status. OpenClaw itself has no affiliate program — it's run by a nonprofit with no paid tier — but its review links to a Raspberry Pi kit on Amazon through the Amazon Associates program.
